Covid-19 Precautions

In light of the way COVID-19 has changed our world, I thought it might be helpful to take some time to talk about the precautions we are taking at Bella Mia to limit the spread of the virus and keep our customers safe. Of course, there is a state mandate for masks and face-coverings, and we follow that as much as possible. All of our technicians wear a mask during the entire length of the service, and we ask customers to do so as well when it does not directly interfere with their procedure (facials are exempt, for example).

However, we also take other precautions that you may not know about. For instance, we have staggered our appointments to allow extra time for the technicians to completely disinfect their rooms and to limit exposure between clients. When you arrive at Bella Mia, we ask that you call us from your car, so that we can ensure that there are no other customers in the waiting area. This is one simple way to make sure we don’t have too many people in the lobby area and to limit exposure between clients. We will also ask you to wash or sanitize your hands when entering the store.

Our staff does temperature checks every morning and we have constructed plexiglass barriers at the nail station and the front desk. We frequently sanitize the surfaces, pens, pin pads and clip boards that are used in our daily operations. All of the implements used in our services are soaked in hospital grade disinfectant solution. We do not use jets during our pedicures in order to avoid bacteria from recycled water. Instead, our basins have disposable liners that are thrown away immediately after each use.

We understand that everyone has different comfort levels about venturing out and the uncertainty of everything that’s going on can be really stressful to manage. The transition to this “new normal” has been challenging, but we have been staying busy and we want to assure you that Bella Mia is committed to your safety and that we are following the protocols and best practice guidelines of the NC Board of Cosmetology. We look forward to seeing you all again soon!
